The Great Steamboat Race

Join us on this exclusive tour that culminates with "The
Great Steamboat Race"! This iconic American tradition of boat
racing, bourbon tasting, and bountiful food is simply
unbelievable fun. As one of the original and longest standing
traditions of the Kentucky Derby Festival, the Great Steamboat
Race has been taking place on the Ohio River since 1963.
Our vessel is the Belle of Cincinnati, a majestic and
ornate beauty, upon which we will cruise in ultimate comfort
and luxury. She features three decks, including an open-air top
deck for stunning springtime sightseeing! Dining areas and
dance floors surrounded by lavish Victorian décor will
make your time aboard one you’ll always remember.
The first day, we’ll travel to Newport, KY and
spend the evening in the area before boarding the beautiful
Belle of Cincinnati the following morning.
On Day 2, we’ll depart from Newport Landing and embark on our Ohio River voyage. A full breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served on board. As we journey south to Vevay, Indiana, you can enjoy crafts, puzzles, games, or simply take in the sights as we pass through the Markland Lock and Dam.
Day 3 will find us coasting towards Louisville, Kentucky, with excitement building. Savor another delicious lunch on board as you watch the skyline change. Upon arriving in Louisville, we'll check into the Hampton Inn Downtown. This evening, we'll enjoy a dinner show at the world-class Derby Dinner Playhouse.
Day 4 marks the grand finale: Race Day! The official kick-off to The Kentucky Derby, where you can expect to see thousands cheering along the river. Before the race, we'll explore downtown Louisville and have lunch. Then, grab your Derby hat and re-board the boat for a special VIP tasting before dinner! Let's bring our cheerful spirit and race the Belle of Cincinnati to victory against the Belle of Louisville (on her home turf, no less!).
Finally, on Day 5, we’ll journey home full of wonderful
memories (and hopefully as the 2025 race champions)!
