Join us as we explore exquisite areas of rugged beauty, gorgeous nature, and fascinating history in the Wild West!

We'll spend our first evening  in the Des Moines, Iowa area, before arriving at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota on day 2.  The Corn Palace is known around the world as a folk-art wonder on the prairie of South Dakota. For over 100 years, this unique destination has displayed beautiful murals made solely of corn! After visiting the Corn Palace, we will stay at the Hampton Inn in Mitchell, South Dakota.

 

Day 3 will find us at Wall Drug, a drugstore offering over 50,000 square feet of shopping, dining, and fun nostalgia. Don't forget to try their 5-cent coffee and famous homemade donuts! Then we'll take in the dramatic landscapes of Badlands National Park before checking into the Holiday Inn Express in Deadwood, South Dakota, right in the heart of all the activity for three evenings.

 

 

On days 4 & 5, we'll embark on the Buffalo Safari Jeep Tour, allowing us to see pronghorns, elk, and American Bison in parts of Custer State Park that are only accessible through this tour! Then, we'll visit Mt. Rushmore and take in the majestic beauty of a uniquely American work of art that will leave you in awe of its greatness. We'll have the pleasure of seeing the Crazy Horse Memorial, currently under construction and depicting the great Oglala Lakota Warrior. In the evenings, we'll explore Deadwood, known for its compelling gold rush history.

 

On days 6 & 7 we will journey home, arriving back in Illinois on Day 8, full of great memories of a truly enchanting area of the country!
